Dog Daycare

Dog Daycare in Highett – Supervised, Outdoor & Loved by Bayside Dogs

A day full of friends, play and fresh air – and a gloriously tired pup at pick-up. That’s what dog daycare at Unleashed looks like, and it’s what Bayside families have been coming back to since 2004.

At Unleashed Doggie Daycare in Highett, daycare is so much more than minding your dog while you’re at work. It’s a whole day of play, friendship and fun in Melbourne’s biggest outdoor daycare space – covered for all weather, so the good times roll rain, hail or shine. Whether your pup is a bouncy social butterfly who wants to play chasey all day or a gentle soul who loves a sunny snooze between gentle strolls, there’s a place here with their name on it. Dog daycare near you has never looked this good.

Why dogs love it here

Melbourne’s biggest outdoor playground -We’re proud to offer what no other dog daycare in Bayside or the surrounding suburbs can match – a vast, open outdoor space with full weather cover, giving dogs the room they need to really run, zoom, sniff and explore. It’s the kind of space that lets dogs be dogs, and it makes a genuine difference to how much they get out of their day.

A pack of new best friends – Dogs are social creatures, and dog daycare is friendship central. The bonds dogs form at Unleashed are real – you’ll notice it when your pup starts pulling toward the gate at drop-off, tail going a million miles an hour before you’ve even parked the car. Not sure if your dog is the social type? Read our guide to the five signs your dog would love daycare – the answer might surprise you.

A caring human by their side all day – Our experienced team is always right there alongside every group, encouraging good play, reading body language and making sure every dog feels safe, supported and genuinely happy throughout the day. This isn’t supervision from a distance – it’s hands-on, attentive care from people who genuinely love dogs.

All ages & sizes welcome – From playful puppies discovering the world to dignified seniors who prefer a quieter pace, our Highett dog daycare welcomes dogs at every life stage. Every dog deserves a great day out, regardless of age or breed.

Is your dog ready for daycare?

Wondering whether daycare is the right fit for your dog? Most dogs are more social than their owners realise, and the signs are usually right there at home – in how they greet other dogs on a walk, how they bounce back from new situations, and how they cope with a quiet house while you’re out. We’ve put together a helpful guide to knowing if your dog is ready for daycare, covering exactly what to look for and what it means if your dog is on the shyer side. Spoiler: shy dogs are very welcome here too.

Grouped with care

One of the things that sets Unleashed apart from other dog daycares in Bayside is the way we think about grouping. We match every dog by temperament, age and energy – so the quiet ones can lounge and snooze while the livewires play and zoom around with their crew. It means every pup has exactly the kind of day that suits them best, rather than being thrown into one big mixed group and left to work it out. Read more about how we group dogs at Unleashed and why it makes such a difference to everyone’s day.

Our Puppy Crèche

Got a young one? Our dedicated Puppy Crèche is a safe, supervised space where pups can build confidence and learn to socialise with appropriate friends – the perfect head start for a happy, friendly grown-up dog. There’s a critical window up to around 16 weeks of age when puppies are naturally open to new experiences in a way they simply won’t be again. What happens during this period shapes the adult dog they grow into. Read more about why puppy socialisation in the first 16 weeks matters so much, and how our Puppy Crèche is designed specifically around what young pups need at this stage.

Getting started

Every new dog begins with an assessment day, so we can get to know their personality and find their perfect crew from day one. It’s a drop-and-go day – you don’t need to stay, and most dogs settle faster without their human nearby. If you’re wondering exactly what happens from the moment you drop off to the moment you pick up, we’ve laid it all out in our step-by-step guide to what to expect on your dog’s first daycare assessment day – so you can head off with total peace of mind.
